Principle of standard cutting angle of angle grinder

The standard cutting angle of angle grinder is generally 45 degrees, because this angle can achieve the best cutting effect in many aspects.
Cutting efficiency: When the angle grinder cuts at a 45-degree angle, the contact area between the grinding disc and the material surface is minimized. This contact mode can reduce friction and increase cutting speed, making the cutting process more efficient. In contrast, too small a cutting angle may cause excessive contact between the grinding disc and the material, increase friction resistance, and cause the cutting to become slow.
Heat control: Heat is generated during the cutting process. Excessive heat can cause the grinding disc to overheat, which in turn affects the cutting effect and shortens the service life of the grinding disc. A 45-degree cutting angle helps to reduce the friction heat generated during the cutting process, maintain a lower temperature, and thus extend the service life of the grinding disc.
Incision quality: When cutting at a 45-degree angle, the flatness and smoothness of the incision are higher. This angle can effectively reduce the deformation and edge collapse of the material, making the incision more neat, especially in the cutting of metal and stone, high-quality incisions are essential for subsequent processing.
Although 45 degrees is the standard cutting angle, in actual operation, the choice of cutting angle will also be affected by the type of material, thickness and cutting requirements. For example, for thinner materials, the cutting angle can be appropriately reduced to improve cutting control; while for thicker materials, keeping the cutting angle at 45 degrees helps ensure cutting stability and force transmission.
